Target Audience:
All Faculty, Physicians, Psychologists, Resident Leaders, Social Workers, and Medical Educators from SEMCME Member Institutions
Objectives
After completing this series, participants will be able to:
- Explore the journey of addiction and recovery through a physician's experience.
- Learn to identify signs of an impaired clinician.
- Understand addiction as a disease to be treated, not a moral defect.
- Identify options to address physician impairment
Accreditation Statement: In support of improving patient care, this activity has been planned and implemented by McLaren Health Care and Southeast Michigan Center for Medical Education. McLaren Health Care is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team."
This activity will also award credit for psychology (APA) if the requirements necessary for credit are met.

Psychology CE: The McLaren Health Care designates this activity for a maximum of 1.0 APA CE Credit. Psychologists should only claim the credit commensurate of their participation in the activity.
Social Work CE: As a Jointly Accredited Organization, McLaren Health Care is approved to offer social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. Organizations, not individual courses, are approved under this program. Regulatory boards are the final authority on courses accepted for continuing education credit. Social workers completing this course receive 1.0 general continuing education credits.
