Preparing for Practice – Transitioning from Training to Employment
Preparing for Practice is not a recruitment event – it is an educational program that will help trainees feel more comfortable with the process of finding their post training position and understanding employment agreements. The program will be offered in a relaxed, informal virtual environment with ample opportunities to ask questions. The sessions are targeted toward trainees expecting to graduate in 2023 or 2024
Session 1 – October 2, 2024 12:00 – 1:30 pm - CV’s, Searches, and Interviews
This session will focus on beginning your search for the right position after residency training. Topics to be covered include how to prepare for job interviews – what to expect, where to look, what questions to ask, and developing your CV.
Session 2 – October 9, 2024 12:00 – 2:00 pm - Contracts, Compensations, Negotiations and RVU’s
Trainees who attend this session can expect to understand common
contract provisions, learn about compensation models and benefits packages, and
get tips on how to negotiate.
