Basic Surgical Ultrasound Course
Session 1: 8:00am-12:00pm
Session 2: 1:00pm-5:00pm
This "hands-on" course provides SEMCME surgical residents (PGY 1 & 2) with an experience in basic ultrasound concepts and techniques. The half-day program will employ a variety of teaching methods including didactics, demonstrations, and hands-on learning. Residents will gain valuable experience practicing ultrasound techniques while performing standarized simulated tasks on bench models and standardized patients. This basic course has very limited capacity thus offering the residents a highly desireable learner to teacher ratio. The SEMCME residents participating in the program will be taught by expert faculty from Wayne State University School of Medicine.
