All Faculty, Physicians, Psychologists, and Medical Educators from SEMCME Member Institutions

 

Course Description

Both wellness & equity training and professional development programs address critical areas in any institution. This session will provide and fulfill the educational need and provide practical examples for implementation.  Participants will evaluate their recruitment/selection goals and proceeses and consider short and longer trem modifications in support of a more holistic and psychometrically sound applicant review.

 

Objectives
After completing this series, participants will be able to:

1. Describe the missions and goals of their progras and institutions.
2. Describe their current recruitment/selection processes and compare these processes with Holistic Review.

3. Using the AAMC's EACM (Experiences, Attributes, Competencies, Metrics) model - identify and priortize their recruitment/selection criteria.
4. Using the AAMC's EACM model - apply these criteria in drafting short and longer term modifications to strengthen their recruitment/selection processes consistent with Holistic Review and program and institutional missiong and goals.
5.  Clarify the contributions of different disciplines including physicians, psycholgists, and other medical educators in crafting and conducting a holistic recruitment/selection process supportive of program and institutional mission and goals. 

 

 

Accreditation Statement: In support of improving patient care, this activity has been planned and implemented by McLaren Health Care and Southeast Michigan Center for Medical Education. McLaren Health Care is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team."    

This activity will also award credit for psychology (APA) and social work (ASWB ACE) if the requirements necessary for credit are met.                   

 

Medicine CME: The McLaren Health Care designates this live activity for a maximum of 2.0 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.                   

 

Osteopathic CME:The McLaren Health Care is accredited by the American Osteopathic Association to provide osteopathic continuing medical education for physicians. The McLaren Health Care designates this activity for a maximum of 2.0 AOA Category 2-A credits and will report CME and specialty credits commensurate with the extent of the physician's participation in this activity.                  

 

Psychology CE: The McLaren Health Care designates this activity for a maximum of 2.0 APA CE Credit. Psychologists should only claim the credit commensurate of their participation in the activity.
