Objectives

After completing this series, participants will be able to:

1) Understand the distinct traits of different generations and their influence on teaching and learning preferences.        
2) Explore best instructional practices, grounded in adult learning theory, to maximize learning outcomes across generational cohorts.    
3) Gain skills to leverage active engagement, technology integration, and reflective methods to enhance instructional effectiveness in both the procedural and didactic learning environments.
4) Apply generational communication strategies and collaborative teaching techniques that enhance interprofessional team dynamics, fostering more effective and cohesive interprofessional teamwork.

 

Accreditation Statement: In support of improving patient care, this activity has been planned and implemented by McLaren Health Care and Southeast Michigan Center for Medical Education. McLaren Health Care is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team."    

This activity will also award credit for psychology (APA) if the requirements necessary for credit are met.

Course Description

Psychological safety is essential in medical teams in order to create an environment for better communication. Research demonstrates that the quantity of communication observed in healthcare teams correlates directly with quality of care. This workshop will address the dynamics of psychological safety in the workplace and provide strategies to enhance the group and team psychological safety in order to promote engagement, relational dynamics, and educational effectiveness.      

 

Objectives

After completing this series, participants will be able to:  

1. .Describe the landscape of clinical bioethics and articulate the factors that increase the need for more ethics education in medicine and the health professions.
2. Define key best educational practices and apply them to education about clinical ethics in medicine and the health professions.
3. .Begin to plan an ethics education activity within one's own clinical practice that employs one or more best educational practices.
