7th Annual Michigan Summit on Quality Improvement

The 7th Annual Michigan Summit on Quality Improvement & Patient Safety

       Popular statewide summit brings together over 300 residents, fellows, faculty, and other healthcare professionals to focus on the promotion of patient safety and enhancement of quality patient care.

 

More than 100 residents and fellows from across the state will compete with their quality improvement and patient safety projects.  Core faculty are also welcome to submit their projects and top projects for residents and fellows will be presented on May 18th at the Summit.

 

The year's Summit includes a keynote presentation by Timothy J. Hannon, MD, MBA
Reducing Waste and Advancing High Value Care  

 

Objectives: At the conclusion of this session the learner will be able to:

  • Define the terms "Low Value Care" and "High Value Care"
  • List five drivers of Low Value Care in the US Health System
  • Review the three major categories of evidence based implementation strategies for clinical practice change
  • Cite an example of a "Nudge" that can be employed to reduce Low Value Care

Medicine CME: The McLaren Health Care designates this live activity for a maximum of 1.0 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.      

Osteopathic CME: The McLaren Health Care designates this activity for a maximum of 1.0 AOA Category 2-A credits and will report CME and specialty credits commensurate with the extent of the physician’s participation in this activity.    

Nursing CE: The McLaren Health Care designates this activity for a maximum of 1.0 CNE Credits. Nurses should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
